Are There Any Michael’s In Your Life?

It was 2003. Michael found me on the Internet.

Hailing from Santa Barbara, California, he drove all the way to Miami to work with me on a promising project: Leading Caterers of America. 

Agreeing as partners to work for very little compensation, we embarked on our journey to provide education for caterers. Catering Boot Camp was held in a score of cities, from San Diego to Boston.

Soon, the plot began to unravel. Michael unleashed controversy at home and at work. I shouldered most of the work while my “partner” was along for the ride.

Here’s where I dropped the ball and failed to remember God’s Word:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

After burning through quite a bit of time, talent and treasure, I severed my  relationship with Michael in 2005.

The damage was done and I paid the price. Leading Caterers was acquired by another firm for way less than ten cents on the dollar.

Is today the day you take a hard look at your inner and outer circles to look for any Michaels in your midst?

If so, today will be the perfect day to ask for guidance . . . and then listen humbly within as He offers you the counsel of the Godly.
