The Best Lemonade You’ll Ever Taste

At that point, lemonade was nowhere on the menu.

We were bidding on a five-day contract for a major firm whose name you’d recognize.

Unbeknownst to us, one of my sales team members decided to sway the client to use another firm—in the belief she’d benefit more by abandoning us and working with them.

Based upon her recommendation, the client chose the other firm.

And then she resigned from my company.

Her decision cost my company and my team members hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost pay and revenue.

We were scarred financially by her unscrupulous actions. But, as human beings, we were also hurt and deeply disappointed.

We had every reason to retaliate. There were any number of things we could have done.

And many of them did cross my mind.

David, Psalm 7:11

God is a righteous judge,
a God who displays his wrath every day.
  Did we take revenge?

We didn’t.

The form of justice that will rebound on this action is between God and our former team member.

In the aftermath, my firm has benefited from the departure of this toxic person. Our team chemistry has never been better. God blessed us more than we could have imagined at the time.

Life does throw us lemons—and occasionally some lemons disguised as people—but with God on our side, He turns them into lemonade.

Watch for this happening with your own lemons.

God’s a master at making lemonade that quenches the thirst of the heart.
